The academics are far above other public schools in the Natomas district including the Charter schools. We interact with a lot of children from our neighborhood who attend public school and the curriculum at MH is at least one grade level higher. Other Natomas schools just aren't as academically rigorous. Even though our son tested as eligible for GATE we choose to keep him at Merryhilll. Read less

The students not only excel academically but also excell at real life skills (e.g. learn how to be self reliant, learn how to work as a team, learn leadership skills, learn how to resolve conflict, learn how to accept success and failure with grace, learn how to respect others, learn self respect, learn how to prioritize homework and projects through daily planners, etc.). The speciality teachers (art, music, Spanish, PE, computers), small class sizes, energetic principal, and most of all committed and caring teachers in each grade that give special attention to each child's

My son started this school in the first grade. We were unhappy with his last private school, and needed to find a solid school with strong academics, seasoned faculty and administration, and well run camps - Merryhill had this and more. After our first year, we are very pleased with this school!!

In addition, the staff is organized and professional, and they know each childs' name. Merryhill, also, has private buses for field trips, and the field trips and class activites are very well organized. The teachers are outstanding and are loved by the students, even though they are tough academically. The principal greets every student and parent by name as they arrive every morning...very impressive. I have never seen a discipline issue from any of the students in the past three years. I have two children who attend this school and also participate in their after hours care program. The teachers and curriculum are fantastic and caring- my children are excelling whereas at our local public school, they struggled. I highly recommend this school.

Advanced Placement
AP classes are college-level classes offered at the high school level.
