So happy that my students attend school at Riverside Garden School. Yes, things may be a bit old; however, who didn't grown up just playing outside and having a good time. Remember that old does not mean bad, in this case doing things "old school" is better than most of what other schools are offering.

I can't say enough good things about this school. The class size is small, which gives the students lots of one-on-one attention from their teachers. It also gives the kids a great sense of community. There's a very friendly and warm atmosphere, and there are no issues with cliques or peer pressure.
... Read more Academically, the school excels. Students are taught more than the standard reading and math that many schools teach, and they don't "teach for the test" like many schools do. The curriculum is enriching and fun for the kids. It includes science, math, reading, social studies, Spanish, and music. Occasionally, some of the parents who work at UCR will come to the school and do fun science experiments with the kids, which is always a hit. The kids also get plenty of fresh air and outdoor time, which studies have shown is crucial to learning. There is a morning and afternoon recess, and the kids have PE once a week. Additionally, the school participates in the 100 Mile Club, and the kids walk/run every morning before class. Don't let the exterior of the school fool you. The buildings may be old, but the school provides a nurturing environment, and a fantastic educational experience. Read less

I went here like, I don't know, 7 years ago. I still have memories from here, even though I only went 1.5 years. It was a great school. I really liked my kindergarten teacher. I remember a lot about that school. It was great, and I really want to go back there sometime. Well, that's it. Great school.

A wonderful, low pressure environment for kids. No bullying. Good teachers. Cirriculum that focuses on bedrock skills: (math, writing english, science, geography). I am a software engineer, and appreciate that the focus is not on the technological whiz bang stuff, which kids pick up anyway. I would

The young kids dig, and explore, and make shelters for ladybugs. The older ones use two basketball courts. There are also old fashioned monkeybars, a slide, teatherball, a baseball backstop. Every grade has a day with a professional PE instructor. As for dingy, I find the classrooms clean and wonderful: most classrooms have one wall with nearly floor to ceiling windows. Wonderful natural light. good, old fashioned desks with lots of room for books and materials... Read less

I am very disappointed. The playground is not safe. Poor playground supervision. The classrooms are not up to standard for today's educational needs. Too many fundraisers for a private school. My kids are not learning what was promised. Disappointing....!
