The performing arts aspect has allowed my daughter to not only get some good exercise (dance class happens weekly), but also has helped her 'come out of her shell' a bit -- she's much less shy than she once was, and she loves to perform with her classmates! The onsite afterschool program run by the CDC is also excellent. The kids get to do crafts, play outside, eat a healthy snack and get help with their homework if they need it.
