... Read more an alumnus of RUHS, I can still walk onto the campus and have teachers and staff call me by name. Redondo is more than just a high school, it is a family. Everyone sticks together and supports each other. Of course, no school is perfect, but the Principals handle any situation that may arise between students or students and teachers. I am alumni and RUHS gave me the best high school experience I could have ever asked for. The teachers were excellent and I still keep in touch with a few of them. The administrators truly care about the students as well. Each student has their own activities and most students respect each other. Sure

This is a pretty dangerous place with iffy academics. When our oldest went there, we weren't happy, but made it work. I don't think we'll let either of our other two go there. We're likely to petition for Torrance West High. They need to get the campus under control and then the academics.

There are some very weak teachers. The school is over-crowded and I would encourage the administration to be very careful about the permitted students they allow to attend. Huge, diverse, underachieving school. Not enough honors classes. Grading in many college prep classes is absurdly punitive. Competition is fierce for all extracurricular slots (sports, etc.) because there are so many students. Fair amount of parental involvement.

Advanced Placement
AP classes are college-level classes offered at the high school level. Adult Education Classes
Programs offering GED or equivalent courses for adults within regular schools, whether classes are held during evening or daytime schedules.
English as Second Language
English language classes for students whose first language is not English.
