14 Parent Reviews for Redondo Union High School

Redondo is the best school in the South Bay! The teachers are caring and they genuinely want every student to succeed. Teachers will stay after school long hours just to make sure a student understands the material being taught. The teachers recognize each student as an individual. Even though I am now ...  Read more

I am alumni and RUHS gave me the best high school experience I could have ever asked for. The teachers were excellent and I still keep in touch with a few of them. The administrators truly care about the students as well. Each student has their own activities and most students respect each other. Sure ...  Read more

theres too much drugs that the teachers are oblivious to or are just refusing to do anything about. other than that, most of my teachers are well trained and know how to teach.

This was our daughters first year at RUHS and she had a very positive experience. Although it is a bigger school, she was able to get involved in athletics and student board activities. This is a pretty dangerous place with iffy academics. When our oldest went there, we weren't happy, but made it work. I don't think we'll let either of our other two go there. We're likely to petition for Torrance West High. They need to get the campus under control and then the academics.

I am an alumni of this school. Although I didn't participate all that much, due to knowing I was going military, RUHS is a very well run, organized and educated school in a very wonderful location. People are crazy to think otherwise...

There are some very weak teachers. The school is over-crowded and I would encourage the administration to be very careful about the permitted students they allow to attend. My student really enjoys the block scheduling and the good teachers use it to their advantage. The lazy teachers, and unfortunately ...  Read more

Huge, diverse, underachieving school. Not enough honors classes. Grading in many college prep classes is absurdly punitive. Competition is fierce for all extracurricular slots (sports, etc.) because there are so many students. Fair amount of parental involvement.

Redondo has a diverse set of oppertunities for students. However, the school lacks in the freshman English department and in properly planning the building of new facilities.

Middle and high school students also took subject-specific CSTs in math and science, depending on the course in which they were enrolled.
