I found the staff to be very nice and helpful. I was surprised to see how underfunded the school was. The school needs books (just look in the library and ask teachers about classroom books), simple maintenance like paint and clean up in certain areas like pressure wash the concrete, etc. i could say

The teachers run the school and as other posters have said, some are good, some are poor. The biggest problem is the lack of teacher communications. On average, I'd say that 1/2 the teachers have NO INTEREST in students. They're just there for the 200 day work year and the early retirement. Some

I don't like most of the teachers some are to social and personal and some don't care what your student gets. There is one that yells way to much and is very unfair

We've had a real struggle at Parras. Teacher communications are poor, and anything short of walking in the door in person fails to get a response. The principal and counselors try to help, but, they are not in control and the teachers do whatever they please. Compared to other schools we've attended

My daughter reported the theft of a ticket to the principal yesterday, (the principal having shown previous dislike of my daughter), had three girls go look for the missing ticket, and then proceeded to tell Madison that is something is valuable, don't bring it to school. My daughter knows this, especially,
... Read more now, but what else/other support does the campus provide? We filled out a police report, and I believe Ms Tahajian received her copy. Also Madison has gone to her repeatedly about being harassed by other students. Is there no measure in place to curb this behavior, or should I go down to the RB Police Dept and file restraining orders on these girls? I feel no support from this principal. She has made up her mind to not have favorite students, as in the case of Madison. If she does have favorites, I don't know them. Either way, her position, I believe should require impartiality at all times. Do I also need to copy in the Daily Breeze and possibly the State Board of Education? I am so fed up with this principal trying to grind my daughter in to the ground, and picking Madison up, almost in tears, daily. Read less

This is our 2nd middle school between the 2 kids. We moved 2 years ago. Adams is much better than parras. The principal at parras doesn't work very hard to connect with either the kids or the parents. We've always felt that staff (except counselors) was aloof. The 6th grade teachers are a mix of

English class is mostly busywork, math and science are a crapshoot - if your kid doesn't 'get it' then that's how they'll end the year. Social studies is interesting, but most outside projects. The variety of 6th grade electives (the wheel) vary from a bunch of busywork and assignments (speech) to total waste of time (art). It's hard to see how two schools in the same district could be so different. Parras is a 3/10 while adams is a 9/10 in my view. Read less

My older daughter went here 6 years ago. It was a good school. My younger is now there and I'm surprised at how much its fallen since then. The teachers have changed out some, and the older ones seem defeated. The principal is new too, and she's pretty much clueless about how to run a school. I'm
