Colleges love the school, in an interview I had with LMU they said every student earns the grades they get at SM, unlike many other schools in California who inflate grades to the maximum, creating a huge drop out rate when the students get to college. We had a good experience.One son just grad.with a 3.6 while in the ASP program and received extra help. Son # 2 starting with all Honors. They really care about the students! It is a sacrifice but well worth it.

The academic programs and athletics are undoubtedly good. However, this school is not for everyone. It caters to the overprivileged Coto de Caza crowd. It is imbued with the traditional Catholic philosophy of relentless discipline and rules, rules, rules. My daughter attended one year and ran screaming.

Advanced Placement
AP classes are college-level classes offered at the high school level. Once a student completes an AP class and passes a final comprehensive examination conducted by the College Board, the student earns college credit for the course. AP classes are specific and not to be confused with other higher-level classes such as honors classes.
Before/After School
"Extended day" programs where the school day is extended before and after school to accommodate working parents. These programs should not be confused with common after school clubs or athletic activities.

Vocation/Technical Curriculum

A school or program within a school that provides services and training to students with moderate to severe mental and/or physical disabilities.
Adult Education Classes
Programs offering GED or equivalent courses for adults within regular schools, whether classes are held during evening or daytime schedules.
English as Second Language
English language classes for students whose first language is not English.
