... Read more activities. There is a lot of parental involvement. It's a fairly small school (approx. 320 students) and in a very safe neighborhood. I'm extremely impressed with the well-behaved students. It's almost the end of the school year and I have yet to see an arguement between any of the students. It seems the parents and staff are looking out for the childrens' safety, encouraging their academic accomplishments, and acting as positive role models. Read less

Ultimately, as responsible parents, we ended up moving state to ensure our child had quality education. In the year and half since leaving this sub standard school, she has become a straight 'A' student and is in the gifted program (and we did not go private) The usd has abandoned this school for some reason so I would encourage parents to keep on top of ensuring the school delivers even basic education before it is too late! Vista Grande is an excellent school. The academics are excellent and the adminstration and teachers great. Parent participation in the classroom is encouraged and there are many opportunities to volunteer from teaching art in the classroom (Art At Your Fingertips), to helping in the library, classroom

Advanced Placement
AP classes are college-level classes offered at the high school level. Once a student completes an AP class and passes a final comprehensive examination conducted by the College Board, the student earns college credit for the course.
