My stepchild came to this school from a out of county 'fancy smancy' yuppie environment school. There he had trouble with academics, trouble with social issues, the 'no tolerance policy' was overlooked, and the biggest problem was mini vans and BMW'S clogging up the student pic up line. ... Read more my stepchild started OPMS he informed me that he felt these teachers actually cared. He will now be entering into Ramona High w/ a braggable grade point average, a will to learn and go to school each morning, a feeling of safety from the community, sports to keep him motivated/busy and help when it's needed. The staff also is quick to inform of any worries about a child and include parents in the resolution. The staff is always smiling and friendly. It's not a new school, but it's got heart. Thank God for OPMS. Read less

Their computer staff seems to be top notch and their athletic, social science, science, english departments have been describe by my son as a blast. The teachers really try to incorporate real life experience in the class room. Kudos! The after school program provides tutoring by qualified teachers as well as interscholastic competitive sports. Sadly however, without the after school program my son may never have learned Algebra. Perhaps academics should be the school focus not social issues. Read less
On Friday, June 3, 2005, I attended A Tribute to Souza presented by the combined bands of Olive Peirce Middle School and Ramona High School under the direction of Mr. Daniel James. It was a outstanding presentation by all the groups that Mr. James teaches. While many districts are cutting these types

Read more of programs, I am so very pleased that my grandsons, who are Ramona residents, continue to have the opportunity to participate in such programs and enjoy the benefit of such a fine director. As a retiree of a neighboring school district, I know personally what type of committment this takes. Ramona Unified School District is to be complimented on maintaining such a quality band program with excellent teacher leadership. Thank you for the fun experience for our family this year; a wonderful evening Friday and for caring about the kids of Ramona. Read less
