POWAY High is an school with an excellent academic program. A majority of the kids are on a college prep course,unless they opt out. Baseball team & Wrestling & Basketball very competitive and very nepotistic. Parents are the most competitive group among the crowd. Most parents type 'A' business owners.

Poway High School is an amazing high school. The principal Scott Fisher truly cares about the students and their success. The school stresses the importance of academics and is one of the top schools in the county and state. The wrestling and lacrosse programs at Poway are annual powerhouses with wrestling

Academic programs are, for the most part, excellent. There are many extracurriculars, especially sports & band with large parental involvement. Teachers care. The administration really communicates with parents and students. Sports are very important. It's somewhat expensive to send your child there because there are alot of 'add ons'. Good preparation for college. I think most students are college bound.

Poway High has many programs for kids but like all schools in CA the cutbacks show. Many of the programs now require a fee to join. The school asks for donations from parents which helps. They have cut back on techers so class size has increased and reduced their couns. staff. They are in the process

Advanced Placement
AP classes are college-level classes offered at the high school level. Once a student completes an AP class and passes a final comprehensive examination conducted by the College Board, the student earns college credit for the course. Before/After School

Adult Education Classes
Programs offering GED or equivalent courses for adults within regular schools, whether classes are held during evening or daytime schedules.
English as Second Language
English language classes for students whose first language is not English.
