As an alumi of Pomona High School, I have to say that my experience there was not that great. I think that they could have done a much better job and would have kept me and others in this same school not wanting to transfer to another school in the middle of the year

My child is currently attending Pomona High School and has done so for her entire high school career. She is currently in A.P. classes and is doing splendidly thanks to the great teachers of that school. I've compared the teachers at PHS with teachers of some other more 'elite' highschools in other cities,

Pomona High School has great staff and student body. It thrives on being the best it can be with very little resources available. The students that attend Pomona Senior High School deserve to prove they have the potential to be great achievers.

The Principal is very busy doing administrative things, however he is accessible through appointment. Depending on which teachers we speak of, for the most part many of the teachers are loving and teach well. They know how to deal with the students from the area and they are passionate about teaching

There is not much of a parent force because of language barriers and it is a working community that has not turned to its schools in that way yet. Extracurricular activities are wonderful, sometimes they can be distracting to schoolwork, but moreover it complements the down to earth environment Pomona provides. Read less

Advanced Placement
AP classes are college-level classes offered at the high school level. Once a student completes an AP class and passes a final comprehensive examination conducted by the College Board, the student earns college credit for the course. AP classes are specific and not to be confused with other higher-level classes such as honors classes.
Before/After School

Vocation/Technical Curriculum
Vocational and/or technical courses offered within a comprehensive school, usually a senior high school.
Special Education Classes
A school or program within a school that provides services and training to students with moderate to severe mental and/or physical disabilities.
Adult Education Classes
Programs offering GED or equivalent courses for adults within regular schools, whether classes are held during evening or daytime schedules.
English as Second Language
English language classes for students whose first language is not English.
