25 Parent Reviews for St. Bernard High School

SBHS saved my daughters academic life. After getting Ds and Fs during her freshman year at a very competitive Orange County high school, she found her way at SBHS. The small class size, faculty & counselor support and overall environment motivated her to become a serious student. After receiving all ...  Read more

As a parent and former student, I'm very dissatisfied with the leadership at St. Bernard this year. Teachers that have been around for years are leaving midyear, and the constant fundraising have left a bad taste in my mouth. I will be searching for another school for my youngest child.

Mediocrity at its best! A big disappointment. I've found that parents who are satisfied with the level of academics, extracurriculars, services and support provided by the faculty and staff have extremely low expectations and do not have any idea what an incoming college freshman at a top-rated university, ...  Read more

We are new to SBHS this year - we are very happy. We are also a very involved family and have our hand in many things offered. Everyone knows each other, the students are very respectful always addressing parents as Mr. and Mrs. It does have some issues - all schools do, however they are being addressed. ...  Read more

SBHS was one of my top two choices of school. It has only been 60 days and the teachers appear to be awesome. The office lady is wonderful. It has made me concern because I find that the communication from the upper management is terrible. I am wondering if I made the wrong choice.

Our family loves SBHS! I have to admit that SBHS was not first on our list when we were scouting schools for our child. We had not visited or contacted the school, but relied solely on rumors that this might not be our best choice. The principal of our child's elementary school encouraged us to take ...  Read more

This school is rapidly disintegrating, and I would be surprised if it is still open by the end of the 2012-2013 school year. A new principal has come in and teachers, administrators and coaches have departed. There has been no continuity of eduction with teachers leaving in the middle of the year. ...  Read more

My son is currently a senior. I have an 8th grader and I'm currently on this website searching for another high school. That should tell you how I feel about SBHS. The facade is great (grand entrance, lovely flowers etc..) but I felt that the most important thing at this school are $$$$. Oh yes, ...  Read more

This is not a large school but the small class sizes and excellent selection of courses makes this the perfect school for students who are serious about attending a great university.

this school has barely any extracurriculars, they are very money hungry, the only thing that is important to that school is sports (which aren't that good). The only good teacher there now is Mr. Mallen and Mr. Caulfield. I been attending Bernard's for my whole high school life and let me tell you it ...  Read more
