We had a beyond excellent teacher, then got a awful teacher, programs keep getting cut, they don't support LD kids,over dependent on parent involvement, great families! I totally agree that what you get at Live oak charter school you might not get at many other places. The school is rich in applying a waldorf based public curriculum, which to me, is even better than a private school education< at live oak you get the best of both worlds. If you want your child to learn knitting and calligraphy or if you want your child to go on lots of expensive field trips (at the expense of proper learning) then Live Oak may be right for you. It all starts at the top. The director is, to be quite frank, incompetent. Sad to say, he is not respected by the vast majority of parents and older children. Live Oak Charter School is a very good K-8 public school. Our daughter has been happy at this school since kindergarten and feels safe and comfortable in the school's warm atmosphere, where childhood is respected and cherished. We appreciated the excellent curriculum and focus on nature.

There are no words to explain the richness of this school. Academically, socially, artistically,spiritually, morally, this school is giving my children a gift that is creating a life for them they would otherwise not get. Wonderful School. Teaches the child behond just the achidemics. Teaches compation for others and life skills. Also has a great art based curriculum, such as drawing, painting, music, and hand arts. This school is top notch and the teachers and staff are wonderful and caring. Small school with Large

AP classes are college-level classes offered at the high school level. Once a student completes an AP class and passes a final comprehensive examination conducted by the College Board, the student earns college credit for the course. AP classes are specific and not to be confused with other higher-level classes such as honors classes.
Before/After School
"Extended day" programs where the school day is extended before and after school to accommodate working parents. These programs should not be confused with common after school clubs or athletic activities.
