Today Northmead School is a traditional year school (school starts in August and ends in June) with 575 students. This was possible because in August, 2009 a new school opened called Walnut Grove. My child's fifth grade teacher is Ms. Porterfield. My child absoluately loves Ms. Porterfield!!! Read less

I am a parent at Northmead and I think that Northmead is excellent school. Teacher are great and Principle is outstanding in everything. Some of you parent have understand cut back have lot to do what you see.

I am very happy with Northmead Elementary and the Staff here. I think they have given 100% to my kids. Not only in the standard subjects but in life and leadership. I wish my kids could take the sfaff with them when they move on to the middle school and high school.

My concern is safety issues and the fact that teachers do not seem to respond to students asking for help or wanting to get assistance regarading another student. The teachers and staff seem to have a turn the other cheek attitude and definitely do not like to help the children resolve student conflict
... Read more issues. The response seems to be, 'I don't want to hear it...no tattling'. This creates and has created serious concerns regarding safety issues. Otherwise, education seems to be average. Not happy with Superintendant and his style of handling issues...definitely has better things he wants to do. Read less

Overall I am happy with the administration ad faculty of Northmead School. I am worried,however, about the policy of no 'sniching.' My daughter, a 4th grader says that if anyone is ever bothering her she is not allowed to tell, if she does, no action is taken. I know we want our children to learn

The principal makes this school. The staff at the school work together to promote learning and are advocates of the children and their families. Advanced Placement
