Foothill High School is the best high school in Northern California! This year's API was 799 the highest in the area. The teachers go the extra distance to insure students learn. The sports program and music programs are outstanding winning many sectional titles! I am very proud of our local high school!

Great school, most teachers are caring and expert in their field. Admistration sets up a safe environment. A little sports heavy with modest regard for the arts. Way too much parent involvement and power with regard boosters and Club Cougar. A really clean campus that seems to overcome it minor short

I am a parent of a foothill student, he is graduating this year and it has, for the most part, been okay. The parent involvement is a little below average . The music and drama programs are great. The big sport programs are solid, but some of the smaller ones, like the ski/snowboard teams are a joke.
... Read more Every year my son always ends up with some 'rotten egg' teachers, but every school will have some of those. I have witnessed a few of the teachers there, to have a complete lack of respect for their students. The cougar challenge (a community service or career project for seniors)is a program that needs to be lost. It has a complete lack of organization and overly subjective judging that add up to make one big frustrating mess. Read less

This is a great school if students are self motivated or have parents that are pushing them to excel. However, if a student is drifting and doesn't have much parent support it's likely they'll fall through the cracks. This is primarily due to insufficient numbers of counselors. Music and Art programs are nothing special, but the Drama Department seems to excel. Sports programs are well regarded. Regarding parent involvement, about 10 to 15 percent of parents are involved but that's not enough. All in all, a good school for the top 20 percent of students. Kids feel safe on campus because of a good security staff as well as a positive and supportive staff who din't mind keeping a watchful eye on the safety of each student. My daughter has gone to Foothill for two years now, and has loved every day of it. The children are good influences on her and there are plenty of clubs and activities to keep her and her friends on the right track. She has made many new friends and feel extremely at home there. ... Read more friendly and the Administration has been more than helpful everytime I have had anything to do with them. I would recomend this school to anyone who lives in Palo Cedro or Redding. The teachers care about the welfare of the children and parent involvement is always welcome and strongly encouraged. This is a great school, and I am glad my daughter can be a part of it. Advanced Placement
AP classes are college-level classes offered at the high school level. Once a student completes an AP class and passes a final comprehensive examination conducted by the College Board, the student earns college credit for the course. Before/After School

Adult Education Classes
Programs offering GED or equivalent courses for adults within regular schools, whether classes are held during evening or daytime schedules.
English as Second Language
English language classes for students whose first language is not English.
