... Read more a wonderful school. Not to mention the variety of squads (like All-Male, Co-Ed, Drill, and Band, just to name a few) who have succeeded in winning competitions all around California. And our new principal, Dr. Rocky Valles, has supported both the teachers and the students 100% of the way by making new additions to existing facilities, including the bleachers of the football field, gym, and cafeteria. ... Read more amount of money that our school (a Title I school, mind you) has raised for such programs as Invisible Children and Pennys for Patients. We have outstanding and award-winning athletes and perfomers as seen in our dance squads, banners, bands, soccer team, and academic decathlon, to mention but a few. The academic rigor depends on the classes you have and the amount of parental involvement. Some teachers, are here for a pension, while many teachers are idealistic and do what they can with what they are given (students). APATHY among students is a huge problem from my experiences. These teachers are held in high regard by the district even though they are indoctrinating students at their cost. Quite honestly, the academic rigor of this institution is futile. In general, the teachers care very little for the students. In addition, the aura of the student body particularly encourages gang affiliation, drug abuse, and apathetic sentiments towards education. Rarely are students actually pushed to their potential and consequently, in comparison, very few actually make it to the next step of attending a four-year university. Advanced Placement
AP classes are college-level classes offered at the high school level. Once a student completes an AP class and passes a final comprehensive examination conducted by the College Board, the student earns college credit for the course.
