Dont judge a book by its cover. Thats what really makes me mad when people who dont even attend/work at yorba say its such a bad school when they havent even experienced it. I love it! It has great teachers and lots of fun activities. Really, Yorba to me is the best middle school I've experienced! Also ...  Read more

Well i go to Yorba and it's not as bad as everyone thinks. There are fun electives and an honors program and a good p.e. department. The teachers are great too. I'm in honors classes and i feel like I'm learning many new thing. But I don't like the new principal and vice principal considering the last ...  Read more

Okay, so Yorba doesn't have the best test scores in the entire district: oh well. Think about it: not every place your child goes to is going to be perfect. The teachers there are great. Every week for Avid, a student is sent home with a progress report. And if parents request it, they can get a ...  Read more

In response to the last post, Ms Wilfreth is an English teacher. But I agree that Yorba has some of the best math teachers. However, the curriculum is very disapointing. The Honors classes offer my 7th grader material that was covered ...  Read more

Yorba has some of the finest teachers in the county. They are dedicated to teaching and willing to spend many hours after school assisting any student in need.

I am actually removing my child from this school because it is so bad. Look at their test scores - that should be enough to discourage you from enrolling your child. The staff are difficult to deal with. Both of my kids have attended this scholl and in both cases to say I was under-whelmed with the ...  Read more

Grade Level:

Test Year: 2012
Yorba Middle School
Orange Unified School District
* In 2011-2012 California used the California Standards Tests (CSTs) to test students in English language arts in grades 2 through 11; math in grades 2 through 7; science in grades 5, 8 and 10; and history-social science in grades 8 and 11. Middle and high school students also took subject-specific CSTs in math and science, depending on the course in which they were enrolled. The CSTs are standards-based tests, which means they measure how well students are mastering specific skills defined for each grade by the state of California. The goal is for all students to score at or above proficient on the tests.
