Some of these reviews are upsetting. Yes, I am a student. Who knows the school better than me? I am currently going into 8th grade. The teachers are great and actually make learning a little better. We have smart boards and senteos!!!!!! Those are really cool devices that make learning super fun! I love

We do have sports teams. Almost everyone gets an 'A' in P.E. just for their effort and participation. I am artistic and an 'outgoing happy kid' and this school is great for me. It DOES offer the GATE program. Since your new principal came here our school is even more involved. This school is great! Don't let anyone tell you otherwise. Read less

On paper, this school looks like a dream, the whole district should. The reality ... all fluff, no form. I removed my children from this school, and the district. Son an artistic, introverted child. Daughter an outgoing easygoing happy kid. Both A students, with Outstanding Citizenship and Work Habits.

They do not cater to the AP/GATE crowd. They maybe cater to the athletic stars, I guess. The counseling staff was completely uninvolved and invisible. This Social Experiment should have worked, but for me, definitely did not. Read less

Medea is a great school for acedemics. The office personal are all very sweet and helpful and know all the children within the school by name and personality. Medea has a private school feel to it. The acedemics move very quickly which can be very stressful for the kids. All the teachers that my children

Overall the Oak Park schools enjoy an excellent reputation. Test scores are high and reflect the socio-economic level of the community. My one complaint with Medea is an overemphasis on art projects in every academic subject -i.e, make a travel brochure, design a Renaissance Faire booth, create an

Also, since most of these are to be completed at home, some students receive much more parent 'help' than others which creates an uneven playing field. Medea offers instumental music, chorus, drama, and several art courses as electives. Students may also select computer courses or a stint on the school newspaper. The electives are many and varied. There are no extracurricular sports teams and the PE program emphasizes running and more running - which works to the detriment of non track stars! There Read less

We moved to Oak Park 2 years ago from Studio City. The school is exeptional, and in many ways even superior to private schools in the valley. Highly recommended.
