SJOG is a very good school. We have three children that attend or have attended. Our eldest has gone on to Ramona Convent High and our son was admitted to Loyola High. The teachers are very responsive and the extracuricular activities are very good. The school has an above average sports program and

I have been going to this school for 10 years. Throughout my years at St. John of God, I have enjoyed every minute of it. I have created close bonds with both the students and the staff. It is more like a family than a school and I am proud to be a St. John of God Charger.

St. John of God is a great school. I attended back in the 70's (grades 1-8 then) and it was a model Catholic school then, I still think it is a model Catholic school now. This is not to say it is perfect. I think every school has its problems, it is how you deal with them that counts. My son had a problem
... Read more with a teacher in 3rd grade, but with numerous conferences and the fact that the teacher realized I was very involved with my children's education, everything was resolved. I have 4 children attending this school year (2003-2004) and cannot be more pleased. The principal is excellent. She may seem stern to some, but she is gentle and kindly when it counts. We have never had any problems with her and my children love her. She may not have had any biological children (she is a nun) but she has over 300 children, and she treats them like they are her own. Advanced Placement
AP classes are college-level classes offered at the high school level. Once a student completes an AP class and passes a final comprehensive examination conducted by the College Board, the student earns college credit for the course. AP classes are specific and not to be confused with other higher-level classes such as honors classes.
Before/After School

Vocation/Technical Curriculum
Vocational and/or technical courses offered within a comprehensive school, usually a senior high school.
Special Education Classes
A school or program within a school that provides services and training to students with moderate to severe mental and/or physical disabilities.
Adult Education Classes
Programs offering GED or equivalent courses for adults within regular schools, whether classes are held during evening or daytime schedules.
English as Second Language
English language classes for students whose first language is not English.
