This school is a great place to work. The families, staff, and administration help to support each other. Students are challenged academically and socially. With continued focus and hard-work, this community will thrive.

Our Community School offers a whole-child approach to learning and growing. Children learn to be citizens of the world, learn to think in real-world settings, learn to take responsibility for their schoolwork and learn to honor other's feelings and work as a group. I couldn't be happier with my school!

It's hard to find community in LA and we have it at OCS. The kids can be who they are and succeed academically. I feel like this school saved me. I can't imagine life without OCS and I am so proud and grateful to be here now.

CST* Test Scores

Grade Level:

Test Year: 2007
Our Community School
Los Angeles Unified School District
California

* In 2006-2007 California used the California Standards Tests (CSTs) to test students in English language arts and math in grades 2 through 11; science in grades 5, 8 and 10; and history-social science in grades 8, 10 and 11. Middle and high school students also took subject-specific CSTs in math and science, depending on the course in which they were enrolled. The CSTs are standards-based tests, which means they measure how well students are mastering specific skills defined for each grade by the state of California. The goal is for all students to score at or above proficient on the tests.
