Mrs. O'Brian, principal, listens to your concerns and takes her position very, very seriously to ensure that the kids are always safe and on track with their goals. My Daughter is in Kindergarten - I too hate the 'no running' policy. But the teacher she has is WONDERFUL. The Pricipal has also been great - VERY responsive. I heard that this school has improved greatly - I think it shows. After hearing so many horror stories about public schools I am very relieved.

I think this school is excellent. I love how the school gets kids involved in fundraisers for the school. it helps them always feel like they are apart of something big. I love how my daughter in 1st grade now has such a great experiance with her teacher and her classmates. My son who is in Kindergarten

I have one child at HVE she is now in 5th grade and has been there since 2nd grade. The teachers are all great! She is at almost all of the school functions and I have requested 3 meetings with her so far and have seen her either the same day or within 24 hours. Furthermore, it has always been my experience that the teachers are always willing to communicate with parents. They have always made time for me either before, after or even during school hours. My daughter attends HV. Her Kindergarten teacher was wonderful and I m happy with the teacher she has now. The principal on the other hand is very rude and very unfriendly. Pretty disappointing since the school has great potential.

My child attended HV 1-5 gr.I removed him 2 different times the last being in the middle of 5th. Severe lack of communication with teachers and principals. Lots of class hopping with 60 students to one teacher due to computer lab teacher having a full class of her own. Principal could never be reached,
... Read more always at meetings off campus. Teachers duck out early, don't return phone calls. Children can't run at recess. I did like the music and band program & that they had a counselor on site. Lunch program was average. Campus is nice but crowded & not many classrooms have air. One 3rd gr teacher is extremely disrespectful to children & parents. Welch is well respected and Coventry never gives up on the most difficult child. I have a 5 year old who WILL NEVER go to HV! Parent, Teacher communication is lacking. The teachers dont try to notify you if your kid has problem/lagging in anything. They wait too long to tell you. No individual attention. Advanced Placement
AP classes are college-level classes offered at the high school level.
