What a great year we had a school for the 2008-2009 school year. We have moved our daughter to several schools over the last few years and this one out ranks them all 'we' believe in Manteca. The programs setup for the children work well and Principal Borgeson really knows how to run this school!

I feel students grading students is fine. I don't think its about letting the teacher off the hook of correcting. If a student does very poorly and others make fun than that's more on the students personality's and I would hope they would know better! Maybe you could talk to your daughters teacher?

I could not be more please with the Annex. I have one child who is in 1st grade. We have had a wonderful experience both years. I highly recommend Mrs. Smudrick (formerly Ms. Taff). She is compasionate about her students. She expects a lot from them yet the progress I have seen in my child's growth

My child wakes up happy and ready to attend school. This reinforces the value of an education. I have read other statments from the parents reviews that were negitive. These reviews seem to be focused on a singular problem. I have two children that have been at Mc Parland since kindergarden. One is now in the seventh grade and the other is in high school. Over the nine years that I have inteacted

I feel the office staff could be more friendly and attentive to those coming and going. From one extreme, of showing your driver's license to the other of not noticing children leaving the premises without an adult (yes, this did happen). I wish the kids could be more active with music and other areas

To anyone thinking about moving to this district with a small child - be warned: the school board doesn't care about your little one. They just raised the number of children in a kindergarten class to 32 students to one teacher for 100 minutes of the day (the rest of the 100 minutes has 17 kids to

The board did not even discuss the potential impact on the kids, and ignored kindergarten teachers statements that kids could not be effectively taught under these circumstances. This comment applies to all Manteca Unified School District schools - not just McParland! The Board felt it more appropriate to cut funding to kindergarten than to cut funding for extra-curricular activities such as JROTC. If they are capable of this type of cut, what else will they do to ruin the education of our smallest and most vulnerable students? Read less
