I adore this school. The teachers and staff are amazing. They are all very supportive and helpful and the campus is absolutely beautiful. I am the mom of a 9th grade girl. This school obtained a distinguished school award in 2005 however the school has disappointed us. There is a problem with cyber bullying at this school. Even though this is an ongoing problem, the administration has done little to address this problem. Also there

This school has a beautiful location, one block from the beach. There are ocean views from the ball fields. Our experience with the teachers has been mixed. Some of the teachers are amazing, inspiring roll models but most of the teachers at MHS don't rise above good, average teachers.The children

Malibu High School is a terrific school that succeeds because of its incredible level of parent involvement. ... Read more fantastic due to an incredible faculty. The Spanish Department has completely turned over in the past year and a lot of kids relate having a more stimulating curriculum. Like any public school, you have to put in the effort to get the results. There is not a lot of hand holding going on. Students must be motivated to succeed. And those who are, succeed at the very highest levels. Mark Kelly, the current principal, is a terrific administrator. He communicates well, is approachable and is concerned about students performance. We're fortunate to be a parent of two at MHS. Read less

I have two Malibu High graduates and one entering the 9th grade. RANDOM is the word they use to describe the whole setup. Many life long friendships will be formed in this community. As a parent, be strict, delay the age when your child drives up to 18 if you can and be amused. Advanced Placement
AP classes are college-level classes offered at the high school level. Once a student completes an AP class and passes a final comprehensive examination conducted by the College Board, the student earns college credit for the course. AP classes are specific and not to be confused with other higher-level classes such as honors classes.
Before/After School

Special Education Classes
A school or program within a school that provides services and training to students with moderate to severe mental and/or physical disabilities.
Adult Education Classes
Programs offering GED or equivalent courses for adults within regular schools, whether classes are held during evening or daytime schedules.
English as Second Language
English language classes for students whose first language is not English.
