If your child is not academically gifted, this may not be the school for him. But if your child likes a challenge, there is a chance for him to succeed because the teachers are so dedicated and supportive. The average age of Stratford teachers is very young. Some people may perceive that as a positive because of energy and enthusiasm. Some may see it as a negative because of inexperience. We have been very impressed by the dedication of most of the teachers and staff. The student body is very diverse
... Read more in every way. Although core academics are foremost, the school employs some very talented personnel for music, PE, computers and Spanish. The new PE teachers are adding some wonderful variations to the program, like yoga. Our third grader is very excited about designing a computer generated animation. Negatives: the campus is not pretty and although there is a large field attached to the property, the children aren't allowed to play there. There is a parent committee to assist the school in planning activities, but there is no PTA in which the parents have access to the school's administration. Read less

This is my daughter's first year as a pre-K student. I have been very please with her accomplishments accademicaly and owe it all to her wonderful teachers at room 4. I don't personaly like the principle, but did not have issues with her.

Some parents expect more than what is possible from the school and the teachers. This school has been the perfect match for our child. I have two children who attented Statford four years. While the curriculum is very good and the teachers young and energic. The principals need more expierence and the turn over in Administration has not shown thier best side. One of my children did ok with the school. The other struggled every night.

We are very happy with the school. Well balanced curriculum is improving each year based on parental feedback. The teachers are great! Kids love the school. It is academic, but not overwhelming for kids (we've been there from Pre-K to 2nd grade so far). I recommend this school to my friends all the

... Read more many opportunities for after school club activity, including art, science, Girl Scouts, Boy Scouts, and other foreign languages. Most of the teachers are very good, and all of mine have been receptive and responsive when I have raised issues, or provided feedback. A dedicated P.E. teacher has class twice a week with each elementary grade, and there is plenty of play and social time during the day, especially for Pre-school and Pre-K. My children are ahead of their peers academically, they are excited about going to school and are confident when interacting with others in all settings. Read less

I did not have a good experience at this school. The principal was not helpful, and was more condescending than nice. The teachers are under extreme pressure most of the time. The teachers were helpful and wonderful, yet they are not supported by the principal and upper management team. We attended

My son attended this school for five years, from kindergarten - fourth grade. They are not very organized and have a lot of turn over with teachers and administration. Therefore, it all really depends on the teacher. If you have a good teacher, then it is ok, but if not, you are stuck with an administration

Advanced Placement
AP classes are college-level classes offered at the high school level.
