LACES has undoubtedly had a reputation of one of the top schools in LAUSD. Over the past few years, however, I have witnessed the quality of the academic rigor in courses that aren't honors/AP deteriorate. With teacher layoffs and retirements, I'm concerned that our children's education will suffer.

My son is in 6th grade and he loves LACES. She attends so many school related events. The teachers are incredibly commited

The Sports Center is beautiful and the P.E. program allows the kids to swim, play tennis, basketball, and the like on a rotating schedule. The 'enriched' aspect allows the kids to take an additional elective and there are so many to choose from. It is truly a college prep school with 80 minute classes and a block schedule All in all, an excellent school and wonderful experience. My son is happy to go to school and LACES is why. Read less

Bullying and teasing are constant here. The administration can't be bothered to stop it, except to react to individual cases. They don't seem to recognize that a culture change is needed to prevent the school from finally losing any remnant of its past reputation. This school is going downhill fast.
