I have to agree with some of the other reviewers that while this school does have some excellent programs, the emphasis is on homework and testing rather than thoughtful learning and citizenship. I am also unhappy with the choice of either ridiculously expensive after-school care or none at all and I

This is an excellent school. From the Principal, to the teachers, it is apparent that everyone has one goal: do what is best for the children. I highly recommend this school. It's the best!

This school has positives and negatives. I think the October 15th post is very true and thoughtful. I can't add anything to this, except this school is very good at high achievers and slow learners. My daughter, by their standards an average to poor learner, cannot get the individual help she needs,

A lot of parents I know have this same problem, and no good way to deal with it. Also, the emphasis on homework is a heavy burden. The disrepair, lack of oversight on the playground after school, and poor facilities make negotiating this school somewhat difficult for my 7 year old. Read less

This is a very good school, with caring teachers and staff. My children are happy here. Some drawbacks: Very costly after-school childcare, and homework helper, offered, but at least it is available for those who can afford it. The only after-school organized activities & enrichment classes are very

Building and grounds need renovations...various bathrooms are always in need of repair, water fountains don't work, etc. There is a great disparity between what is being taught from classroom to classroom, even within the same grade, so children's experiences can vary widely. They should group higher-achieving students together, as they 'teach to the test', hitting the 'average' students primarily. Read less
* In 2006-2007 California used the California Standards Tests (CSTs) to test students in English language arts and math in grades 2 through 11; science in grades 5, 8 and 10; and history-social science in grades 8, 10 and 11. Middle and high school students also took subject-specific CSTs in math and science, depending on the course in which they were enrolled. The CSTs are standards-based tests, which means they measure how well students are mastering specific skills defined for each grade by the state of California. The goal is for all students to score at or above proficient on the tests.

Test score ratings are based on the most recent standardized test results reported by this state. These ratings may help
you compare similar schools in this district or area. For example, a rating of 8 indicates that, on average, students in
this school scored better than 70% of the students in the state on the same tests. We have indicated below which tests
were used in calculating these ratings. Other factors should be considered when comparing schools, including teacher
experience, academic programs, extracurricular activities, resources for special needs students, etc. These ratings are
not provided by the state Department of Education, which may have their own rating systems.
