This is very sad that a former student feels she was hindered academically and socially. One has to allow for adjustment

That being said, we as parents should listen and consider the opinion and concerns of this former student. Also, the extreme contrast in opinions here leads me to believe that not all students are getting the most out of the curriculum. Read less

I have nothing but positive comments for Laurelcrest. Our daughter was evaluated, then allowed to start school a year earlier than she would have been allow to do in a public school environment. Over the Holidays she spent time with our daughter and told us afterward that she was reading better than the first graders in her own class and was more poised than many older children at her school. Laurelcrest has had it's share of problems but we feel they are behind us. We are looking forward to spending 9 years at this gem of a school. Read less

Parents must step up, pitch in, and do whatever it takes to not just ensure the viability of the school, but to STAY AWARE so they know if/when problems are developing and not be afraid to stand together and speak up. Hopefully the Laurelcrest Board has finally learned they have to encourage communication with parents, not suppress it. Had they done so, they would have avoided this fiasco. re: 23 October review. First of all, the Board is doing/has done an amazing job throughout the past 2 1/2 years. The school was kept together and did quite well through the normal (& difficult) evolution from a very small school to one that has gotten girls into the best high schools in California
