Fleming has great teachers full of energy always motivating their students. Family Math Night was a great event for parents and their kids to interact. I loved all the games and teachers were very helpful.

I am a parent of a 6th grader. I was scared to send my son to this school because of rumor, however we have made it a good situation. My child is involved with the school for advanced studies and I stay involved. As for comments on the other kids in school - teachers and school admin do NOT get to
... Read more pick who lives in their districts or attend their schools. It is a parent's job to teach behavior well before this level of education. I am staying involved with the school and talking to my child on a regular basis. He is having a great year and has made great friends. The school is older, but has made my son feel safe and gets the job done. I would like to see the neighbors of the school and the city of Lomita support the school more. Read less

My daughter entered Fleming through Magnet in 6th grade, now in the 7th. Magnet students can't take advantage of extra curricular activities due to lack of funding for bus transportation. Security needs to be more prevalent especially after school because of the kids hanging out around campus. My daughter

Read more was a cheerleader in 6th grade & sometimes I picked her up from practice early & didn't let her change clothes in the locker room because of no supervision & older kids (male & female) hanging around the door. Her cell phone was stolen out of the locker room in 6th grade & she witnessed another student going through others backpacks in 7th grade. The teachers & counselors are adequate, but as with any teacher/school the parent has to step up & get involved. If I had known more about the school I would have examined my options a little closer. I have had 2 children attend this school. The teachers have been great to my kids. The staff has been adequate. Some outshine others. There are fights and drugs in every school. Don't fool yourself into believing otherwise. My kids only seen a few fights in the 3 years attened there. On a single

... Read more problem, since students are getting into fights at least twice a week, which is absolutely unacceptable. Fleming is one of the unsatisfactory schools around the Lomita-Harbor City area, and I would not recommend sending your son/daughter over there. Read less

Advanced Placement
