... Read more school since kindergarten. I wasn't a Spanish speaker when I first started this school. But the teachers worked hard to make me understand and learn. this is the worlds best school. BAR NONE. i completed the first eight years of my education at joe serna. during that time i was fortunate enough to learn some spanish and excell in math and english. thanks to the encouragment of my teachers and friends i was able to achieve the position of treasurer

Lodi is very lucky to have this Spanish Dual Immersion school. The students are becoming academically proficient in two languages and will be prepared to acquire their third language and beyond in high school when most students are starting their second. Each grade goes on at least ten field trips

I have 2 children at Joe Serna, one who is now in the 7th grade and has been there since the first year. He is currently getting A's in both English and Spanish, and is an example of how well this program works!

This is my daughter's second year at Joe Serna Charter. As an English speaker she struggled a bit during kindergarten. But the faculty and staff were very supportive of her and us. Now in the first grade she loves school and I am very happy with her education and academic progress.

The school has a great Staff and leadership for the students. Joe Serna Jr. Charter School is a Dual Immersion Bilingual in Spanish. My son has been in the program since Kinder and now is in the third grade. Each of his teachers have high expections academically for each of the students. For example,
... Read more my son was not reading with fluency at the beginning of first grade so the teacher stood after school with him and other students until they read with fluency. And it still continues with every subject. These teachers are so dedicated that if they don't have the materials in Spanish they stay late at work and translate it for the next day. Each of the bilingual teachers have such high expectation for the students that they want them to be fluent in both Spanish and English by the end of 5th grade. Thank you a million! Read less

Advanced Placement
AP classes are college-level classes offered at the high school level. Adult Education Classes
Programs offering GED or equivalent courses for adults within regular schools, whether classes are held during evening or daytime schedules.
English as Second Language
English language classes for students whose first language is not English.
