Great school. The teachers, staff, and programs have been instrumental in my childrens' learning. The after school program is also terrific as well as the PTA. I recently moved out of the district and truly miss Maryland Ave.

I am extremely satisfied with Maryland Ave. Elem. My son is attending for his 4th year now and he really enjoys the overall atmosphere of the school. He gets involved in afterschool programs and we attend all of the fundraising events. My son attended a different school for his Kinder year and moving
... Read more him to Maryland Ave. District was one of the best decisions I've made. Class size here at Maryland is better then most in San Diego School District. I do think that parent involvement is very important in any school, especially if you are unhappy about how things are being ran. Join the PTA or whatever it takes to voice your opinion to make changes when needed. Don't go unheard when it comes to your child's education! Read less

school was a big let down this year, my child attended this school since kindergarten and not until recent did I realize it was a very judgemental enviroment. This years teacher was rude to me as a parent, and my child as well. I would not recommened this school. Maryland Avenue was a bust!

Mrs. Newman, 4th grade teacher is awesome. She really takes time to specialize to the needs of the individual student. The new principal is severly lacking in her interest and inclusion of the dhh students. Dr. Reed made sure to include all students and was very hands on.

Maryland has a homey feel. The PTA is very active and provides a lot of extras for the students. The after school program is wonderful and very affordable. I like that the school offers alanguage program and after school science programs. My daughter loved having a male teacher.

Advanced Placement
