This is an excellent school district. We purchased a home here in order to send our children through elementary and high school here. Although we paid more for the homes we lived in here than we might have in other neighborhoods, it was definitely a good investment. We saved money as it would have been ...  Read more

I totally agree with some of the parents who say that the district/administration are too much into the collecting money aspect from the parents of the students. It feels like a private school but with the public (too many student to teacher ratio) school feel. I feel they think everyone who attends ...  Read more

We just moved to Tujunga last August 2013 just to be able to enroll my child to La Canada High. My wife has been working as an RDA for almost 8 years for a very nice Ortho dentist off Foothill Blvd. In La Canada. Though we never realized that LCHS only accepts La Canada residents first and waitlisting ...  Read more

My kids have been in LC schools since elementary. Like many, we moved here for the schools. What I love about the area is the strong community spirit, small-town atmosphere, & general friendliness. It's not uncommon to see lemonade stands on street corners in the summer. While the elementary school ...  Read more

This school has a great deal of bullying. There is a big drug problem as well and all the people here are just self centered people that don't take other peoples feeling into consideration. Classes here are really easy, no wonder students get to call themselves "smart".

La Canada High School is an extraordinarily challenging and competitive school. It is located in an affluent small city where many of the parents are high achievers who are attracted to the city by its schools and their lives revolve around their children's success. The teachers -- not all of whom ...  Read more

This school is ridiculously over rated. Very uncaring towards minorities and different ethnic communities, which is why they are not part of the L.A. or Glendale school districts. The student body is full of selfish spoiled rich kids who care about nothing more their social clicks, nice cars, and the ...  Read more

Primo! This school is highly rated on ALL accounts for our us and our children. The academics, extracurricular sports and clubs, all top-notch and well-run by men & women who really do care. There are always going to be problem kids, problem parents, and every institution has dissenters. These teachers ...  Read more

Personally, I thought the middle school was weak. Lots of kids go off to private high schools. Office staff are great, but the teachers aren't very good.

What makes this school great is the quality of its students, who are clearly being pushed by their high-achieving parents. As busy as these parents are, they are extremely generous with both time and money. Teachers and administrators are important, but if the students are coming from homes where hard ...  Read more

Middle and high school students also took subject-specific CSTs in math and science, depending on the course in which they were enrolled.
