I am very happy with this school. The campus is always clean and very welcoming. The new classrooms are wonderful. Staff is great, teachers are hard, and work very hard to prepare my kids for Amador high school. Mr. Webb is a fantastic Algerbra teacher. Our math scores are the highest in the county.

This school might be dirt poor but i had some of the best experiences here. most of the teachers were awesome (minus a few but thats a given) i loved the 3 years i had there and i wouldn't trade them for the world, what we lack in money is what we make up for in hard work and personality

Our son is currently enrolled at IJH (07-08) as an 8th grader, and we have had nothing but good experiences. The teachers are cooperative, administrator is involved, and the support staff is excellent. We firmly believe that our son is prepared for high school, and look forward to our daughter attending

My child went to this school from 2005-2007. She definitely learned more than I thought she would. But the schedule is a killer, especially for a child who has a hard time with homework. In elementary, she got A's. Now in high school she gets A's. But at Ione Jr. she got C's and D's, mostly due
... Read more to the way the teachers piled on more homework than what I got in college! And there was no leeway for late papers, even if there was an excused absence. The distance we had to go to get to school was also a hinder. Her English teacher (both years) did not want to hear the kids' own opinions... only taught them that her opinions were correct. She played basketball one season and was treated like dirt by the PE teacher/coach. Teachers should be encouraging, not criticizing like many are at this school. Read less

Advanced Placement
AP classes are college-level classes offered at the high school level. Once a student completes an AP class and passes a final comprehensive examination conducted by the College Board, the student earns college credit for the course.
