When the same student keep receiving the same rewards and neither the teachers or the admin seek to encourage a change well it time to change school. Because all students need to know that they can soar like eagles. GVCS was not the school for /fit for my children. I know there is a school out there that will offer the 'you can , you will, you must make it ' attitude and make sure the student believe the school teachers and staff really mean it. Read less

Yes. Most private schools consist of students that are able to work independently and do not need intervention. I was very unhappy with this school. This school functions on a 'one-size fits all' theory. The current principal, Mrs. Pickens has been at the school for many years, and truly cares about the students. Overall this school has been good for my daughter. She attended at 3rd grade after leaving a Montessori based curriculum. She transitioned well academically. Math was a solid base in 3rd grade and building from there was clear. Sometimes homework in 3rd grade was quite a bit much and did not consider
... Read more the age and attention of a 7 or 9 yr old (depending). Principal is good, parents are involved. Downsides are that there are nor foreign language classes at all. This is an issue. There should be a spanish teacher to teach 1 hour per day to the studends until 6th grade at which point it should be a regular class until graduation. Other options could be to have after school classes that are basic, intermediate and advanced. This would help round out the offerings. Read less

Advanced Placement
AP classes are college-level classes offered at the high school level.
