We presently have 2 children at FHS, a sophmore and a senior. This is the first year for both of them at FHS. Previously, they were at St. Francis, but economics forced us to make changes. My husband and I, as well as the girls view FHS as a very good school. Good curriculum, over all academics

... Read more serious budget cuts that have been going on, the principles and VPs and the rest of admin have tried not to let that impact students too much. Also, the friends i made here are friends i will remember for the rest of my lives. The great thing about this school is that it places importance to both sports and academics. One really smart is valued just as one who is really good at sports, as opposed to some other some high schools who place one of higher importance than the other. Read less

I give FHS a 5 star rating. No school is every 100% perfect but I can't complain about the education my son is receiving at this school. I am glad we chose this school over some private schools in the Sacramento area. Many advantages, AP classes, nice campus, sports, etc. School seems to be more

have one son and one daughter---both started out at folsom high. we have very high regards for fhs---did have difficulty with the counselors. the kids are now in their jr & sr.yrs at Jesuit and St. Francis. if anything can top folsom academically as well as in the sports arena, it's these two schools.

Folsom H.S. is a great school and I would not hesitate in sending my daughter there when she is eligible to go. My son attends FHS and is finishing his senior year - 2008. He has been challengd academically. School is demanding in its coursework and expects appropriate behavior from the students.

Yeah, I agree this is a good school with good teachers but not the councelors. Councelling needs patience and knowledge about the courses the kid can take for a better future and they can suggest without asking, since many parents are confused about processes and principles.

Advanced Placement
AP classes are college-level classes offered at the high school level. Once a student completes an AP class and passes a final comprehensive examination conducted by the College Board, the student earns college credit for the course. Adult Education Classes
Programs offering GED or equivalent courses for adults within regular schools, whether classes are held during evening or daytime schedules.
English as Second Language
English language classes for students whose first language is not English.
