With 26 years of experience in elementary education, I feel that this is the best school in which I've had the pleasure to teach. The North Broadway family is such a positive experience for children and staff and is reflected each week at the Friday assemblies. Ms Campbell leads a group of teachers

This means that children are academically challenged, but are also presented with opportunities to experience a broader educational foundation. The Art Docent Program is one of the best I've seen , the PE program is unique in this area, and teachers are always trying to find ways to make all learning interactive and meaningful. This school aims to instill a love of learning and a compassionate social awareness that I believe is the hope of all parents and teachers. Read less

My older daughter used to go to North Broadway before they re-lined and moved the boundaries and it was so much better then. Now it seems that the teachers are having issues with staying on track with the kids, since there are many that are ESL students. The parking situation stinks, and if you don't

I am not sure how you could improve the situation without creating ESL classes that will help those students instead of taking away from the teachers valuable time of teaching. Read less

She has poor leadership qualities, doesnt discipline all of the children equaly, and has her faviores that can get away with toooooo much! the PE program is fantastic. The

North Broadway is a great school! We are pleased with the education that our children have had and will have. As much as I'd like to move to a newer home in a different area, we remain here to be in the North Broadway district for my children to attend this great school. The principle is always out with

My daughter will be starting her second year at N. Broadway this fall. Overall my husband and I are greatly impressed with the special education program for Autistic children here at N. Broadway. The teachers and support staff (aides, speech therapy, P.T.) I have met are really dedicated and caring. The other school staff seems to be good overall. The P.T.A. is active and often has monthly events. The only downsides are 1) that there are almost no extracurricular activities, sports, or music programs and 2) the parking lot is very small so usually you must park a block away to pick up your child during peak hours. My children are on their 3rd year at North Broadway we have been fortunate to have some of the better teachers there. The principal needs to learn tolerance in an intolerant world and know that these are just kids learning and will make mistakes. They do tend to make you feel like an outsider at times.

The teachers and principal are wonderful. My daughter loves it there. If anyone really feels it is clickish, they obviously haven't tried to get involved. Everyone must remember that the school has a budget to which they must abide. It hardly covers what is purchased by the district for the classrooms.

None of this is acknowledged by the parents. In fact when they steal a book from the classroom, with the teachers name inside; these parents take no notice. It still comes down to: if you aren't a part of the solution, then you are a part of the problem. To paraphrase John Kennedy' Ask not what your school can do for you. I feel they offer high quality academic programs considering the school district. This is my daughter's first year at the school starting in 1st grade. So far, I haven't seen the quality or quantity of extracurricular activities that we enjoyed at my daughter's school in San Marcos for Kindergarten.

If you are new to the school and want to be involved, but may be a bit shy, you can actually be made to feel left out and unwanted. I expressed my enthusiasm to the best of my ability and it was rejected. Considering their PTA sign-ups totaled little more than 100 with enrollment over 600, it's really sad that they feel comfortable leaving out those who want to help. Read less
