As a parent of a sophomore and senior at EHS, I must say that all my experiences dealing with the staff have been superb. All my questions and concerns are answered and met within a reasonable amount of time. EHS' test scores continue to flourish which I believe is due to a well-qualified teaching
... Read more staff as well as students who are so eager to learn. Also, EHS is ranked the highest performing high school in Escondido. This is probably due to the numerous Honors and Advanced Placement classes which are devoted to collegiate levels of learning. Students have a wide array of clubs and extracurricular activiites to choose from. If sports are your child's passion, EHS is the place to be, offering numerous sports teams. Last year, nine teams of EHS athletes were honored as Valley League Champions. Your student will be proud to be a cougar: loyal, strong, and true. Read less

This is an excellent school with great teachers, student body, and faculty. My child has gone there all for years and has been nothing but happy with the teachers and education she has recieved.

I can only judge the honors program at EHS. Overall the teachers were excellent, just a couple, my girls sophomore years, that I did not like the way they taught. As for the principal, we got a new one this year, and didn't really get to know her.

I have a son who is a sophomore this year and he is so encouraged and eager to be at this school that I would have to say that ehs is the best school for kids in escondido, and they have the best band in town! The band director is great and he makes the kids responsible and want to be responsible for

My 15 year old son has had a very positive experience so far at Escondido High School. He just finished his freshman year and took advantage of the 'MAGIC' program offered at this school. His Algebra grade has improved since participating in this free course offered a few times a week. MAGIC program
... Read more is flexible so he was able to play sports and still participate and benefit. All in all, the kids are responsible, the parents are involved and the attitude of the students is positive and progressive. I feel safe allowing my son go to this school. Read less

Escondido High School is an under performing school. The administrative staff is not able to create a safe, orderly learning environment. The teaching staff is under qualified. Moreover, parental involvement is practically nonexistent.

Advanced Placement
AP classes are college-level classes offered at the high school level. Once a student completes an AP class and passes a final comprehensive examination conducted by the College Board, the student earns college credit for the course. AP classes are specific and not to be confused with other higher-level classes such as honors classes.
Before/After School

A school or program within a school that provides services and training to students with moderate to severe mental and/or physical disabilities.
Adult Education Classes
Programs offering GED or equivalent courses for adults within regular schools, whether classes are held during evening or daytime schedules.
English as Second Language
English language classes for students whose first language is not English.
