My husband and I were impressed at first. But we have clearly seen a decline in academic performance that needs to be addressed. Our experience has been first rate. Teachers are very engaged in our student s progress. The school leadership is compassionate. Sadly, the experience is just not measuring up to the hype at Grauer. I tend to agree that the academic experience for my daughter seems inferior to other options in this community. Her test scores on National tests are lower than her previous school and I do not see the follow up with the teaching staff

There are times over the last threes years that I have asked my daughter if she would like to look at other schools, esp. when she was entering high school. She has said, 'No Way!' She loves the school for many reasons, but the teachers make it the number one reason she wants to stay at Grauer.

Our son has been at Grauer for 3 years and we couldn't be happier. He has actually thanked us more than once for sending him to school there. He knows all his teachers and they know him. He feels comfortable asking any question of any teacher and they go out of their way to make themselves available

We have not found the academics strenuous or invigorating for our son. The academic level seems to be on pace with the area schools in Encinitas like Oak Crest, but not at the level that was expected for a private institution that costs this much money. The curriculum at The Grauer School is rigorous, in fact, two students won first place at this year's California State Science Fair. But, The Grauer School isn't just about academics.
