The quality of academic program is excellent. I just think that the lack of interest show by some teachers about mid year has a lot of impact on the childs efforts. I've had 2 children at this school. It's a good school and seems to be getting better, especially in its test scores, API, etc. The 3 rating I gave for teacher quality is really more like 3+ -- some of the teachers are quite good, though a number are only average in my opinion. I'd love to see more
... Read more of the teachers use more creativity in their teaching and assignments. The school has a pleasant atmosphere and discipline is good. There are a few extracurricular activities but not too many. An after school drama club was tried recently and this was good -- not sure if it will continue. Parental involvement has been OK but is decreasing -- the PTA is having a hard time finding officers for next year (2005-6). There seems to be stability (not much turnover) among staff and teachers, which is a good sign. Read less

I'd like to compliment the staff at Valley View. They are helpful and supportive. It's important however that parents take an active interest in the school and show children that an education is vital. Advanced Placement
AP classes are college-level classes offered at the high school level.
