Dana Hills High is EXCELLENT! The AP Classes fully prepare students competitively for top-rated universities (from Ivy Leagues to Top UC Schools). The Science, Math (speidel, degen, prince), English , Literature teachers are excellent. Students scoreed an 825 on the API tests which puts them at the
... Read more top of the district, and in the upper division in state and national rankings. About 4% of class earned AP Honors w Distinction. Another 3% earned AP Honors. These are National Scholastic Awards. Great student run yearbook and newspaper. The Student government is student run and well directed by Ken Nedler. The academic advisors respond fairly quickly to questions. Ray Woods runs an excellent Choir program. DHHS Athletes win athletic scholarships; recently, from Stanford, Yale, Duke, UCLA, USC, etc. Lots of school spirit. Any 'bad element' are escorted out of school, dances and sporting events by guards,marines . SAFE school! Clean ocean air! Read less

I absolutely loved my four years at Dana. Like many schools, you get out of it what you put into it. There is a great sense of community (despite the large student body) especially for those who decide to be engaged, work hard, and have fun. The teachers that were there when I was a student were fantastic:

There are lots of AP courses, and also plenty of extra-curricular activities: I swam and played polo, was on the yearbook staff, and participated in a few clubs. Great school. The best school in southern orange county. The academics are always in the top and Dana Hills has been consistently voted by Newsweek as a top 5% high school in the nation! The sports programs are also great. All the programs are achieving spectacular things and cross country both boys

Even though the school is overcrowded, this school has been very eventful and enjoyable. It isn't difficult to make friends since there are so many people to choose from. The Cross Country team is the best!! Go Dana!!

This school is way too crowded. It is difficult to make any close friends with so many people at the school. I never have even seen the principal. It has a lot of extra activities but they are all VERY expensive.

An outstanding school. Both of our sons had a marvelous experience and were very well prepared for college. Most teachers did a great job posting grades and the tutorial program worked very well.

My children have had an excellent experience at Dana Hills and I am thoroughly impressed with the dedication of the teachers and administration. Advanced Placement
AP classes are college-level classes offered at the high school level. Once a student completes an AP class and passes a final comprehensive examination conducted by the College Board, the student earns college credit for the course. A school or program within a school that provides services and training to students with moderate to severe mental and/or physical disabilities.
Adult Education Classes
Programs offering GED or equivalent courses for adults within regular schools, whether classes are held during evening or daytime schedules.
English as Second Language
English language classes for students whose first language is not English.
