I have a 6th and 8th grader at Lawson now. The older one really liked Lawson from day one. The school seems to foster great school spirit among kids. My second one, however, feels stressful by a strict teacher and is bothered by some stupid rules set by teacher. Lawson has wonderful music programs and
... Read more an overall safe and friendly environment. Extracurriculum activities and clubs are less due to being a young school. They used to have an excellent journalism program and school papre, but it got cut this year, which is really a lost. Parent participation should be encouraged more, however. I graduated from lawson middle school last year, and I truley think that they did not prepare me for high school. There are no language classes available at lawson, so it has been very hard freshmen year.

I was sad to read some poor review of Lawson but as a parent of a current 8th grader who has been in the school since 6th grade, I am very happy with all aspects of the school. My child had trouble in the 6th and 7th grades but everything has clicked in 8th Grade and it was nothing to do with the Teachers

I am a current 8th grader at lawson, and attended Warren E. Hyde for my 6th grade year. All I have to say is that Hyde was soooo much better. I am being honest. Lawson seems to have teachers who do not care about student learning, and I am agreeing with the people below me who stated that Lawson sets

Advanced Placement
AP classes are college-level classes offered at the high school level.
