I went to the school for 2 weeks and couldn't handle it. The place is an 'animal house.' My teacher there was honestly a drunk. He was known for it. I also, coming from a charter school, was one of the few only kids in class doing work when asked to. One kid was spitting tobacco and spit in on the floor.

Overall, I would have to say that this school is not bad. It offers a wide variety of programs, and help. The teachers are willing to assist the student as long as the studen shows intiative and seeks the help.

My daughter is a student at this school. She is constantly stuggling with classes. The no-child left behind law certainly lacks desire at this school. My daughter needs one-on-one tutoring, but the counselor, teachers just don't seem to understand this. I have had to HIRE a outside tutor to get the

Althoug seemingly a poor school with even poorer facilities, NMCHS is actually one of the most outstanding highschools in the area. They have some of the best teachers available, includeing the espically outstands Ms. Grummon, Ms. Rodgers, Mr. Martin, and Ms. Chu.

... Read more safety feature and growth by interaction with authority figures. There is also a concept of trust and sharing as they have no lockers and everyone meets in the forum for lunch. The layout of the school provides a closeness that helps all ages mix together. The block system of 3 classes/90 minutes is another asset that this school embodies. There is more focus on learning, attendance, and effort with time for fun as well. Lots of college prep. & vocational choices here. It seams to be a ... he said-she said problem. Despite numerous attempts and phone calls, my concerns have been ignored. On another note, my oldest graduated at the top of her class. After her entrance exams to College, she had to take prerequisite classes, very disappointing to know she was not properly prepared for college, despite having completing high level classes. Advanced Placement
AP classes are college-level classes offered at the high school level. Once a student completes an AP class and passes a final comprehensive examination conducted by the College Board, the student earns college credit for the course.
