... Read more excellent in allowing, yet challenging, the students to excel in the classroom. The teachers really care about the well-being of their students. The school is also able to provide a strong Catholic foundation for its students through weekly school masses and Eucharistic adorations. The sports and musical extracurricular activities give students a good basis for physical education and musical appreciation. The idea of family involvement is not farfetched because parents are always willing to help at many school activities. The numerous upgrades in the classrooms, library, computer lab and environment will positively impact the student's learning atmosphere. Read less

All my 4 kids attended st. philomena and the school treated them very well. Honored when needed to be honored, awarded when needed to be awarded and punished when needed to be punished. Although I didnt see eye to eye with a few teachers, I do recall the teachers not giving up on any of my kids. My kids
... Read more excelled and continue to private high schools.... All 4 agree, St. Philomena was a great education, considering how other students were behind in h.s. of other public schools. In the 90's when computers started making there way into more homes and the internet was on the rise, St. Philomena began a computer class and my remaining two kids that were still in this school, well, they loved computers. If I had to rate St. Philomena on a scale of one to ten, I would definately rate this school a nine point five. Read less

Their principal is basically the heart of the problem--she continues to destroy an already weak school. In addition to the school being weak overall, it has extremely poor math, and science programs.

AP classes are college-level classes offered at the high school level. Once a student completes an AP class and passes a final comprehensive examination conducted by the College Board, the student earns college credit for the course. AP classes are specific and not to be confused with other higher-level classes such as honors classes.
Before/After School
