We just moved to Carmichael from El Dorado Hills and we came from great schools there in EDH. What I really like about John Barrett is the communication the school has with the parents. They don't let anything slip by without informing you about it. They really care about their students. We rarely got

The teaching and office staff are great. They are always with a smile and a pleasant comment about your child. My child has not been the easiest at testing their patience but they always prevail. The IE program is awesome and they exhaust every avenue. The only problem I see is how they handle policy

This school is wonderful! I have had kids in this school for the last five years. There has never been a time in the last five years that the office staff or administration has not been available any time I need to ask a question or voice a concern. The sixth grade program is fantastic and I will have

It gave my kids a little taste of each subject and let them decide what they were interested in. For example: Spanish, French, School to Careers, computers, and art. One of my children discovered that they loved Spanish and art, while the other loved 'School to Careers' with Mr. Wright. (I think that is his name.) Thanks and keep up the good work Barrett! My child is in the Excel program at Barrett which is in between the standard curriculum and the high achievers program. I couldn't be happier with the level of instruction my child has received, nor with the quality of the teaching staff. It is just too bad that the Excel program isn't offered at other

My only complaint is the exploration elective that is offered. It is a pass/fail program that all 7th graders must take, and basically it is just a waste of time. I think a more challenging or interesting elective such as woodworking, autoshop, or home economics would be far more valuable. Read less

I am not real happy with the office staff nor the time anyone takes to speak with parents when questions arise. I think that they could and should do better. There is also no nurse.
