19 Parent Reviews for Chaminade College Preparatory School
I am switching schools soon because I cannot take Chaminade anymore. They are so closed minded in their religion department its almost like brainwashing. I am not religious and when, on the occasion I decide to be truthful in my essays about my lack of faith, I get lower grades on them. Most people lie

There is a huge cheating problem within the smart kids because they are so afraid of getting anything lower than an A. I am an alumni of the Class of 2011. I went to Chaminade from 6th grade all the way through 12th grade. What a great experience! Not only are the teachers some of the best in their field, they are so much more than just teachers of academic subjects. They are also life role models interested in helping

The alumni community really watch out for the students and the new graduates as well. What makes Chaminade special to me is the amount of Family Spirit that the school has; everyone becomes a member of a larger family. We as alumni still call ourselves Eagles. Like anything else, Chaminade is what you make out of it. You can take the harder classes (APs and Honors) and be challenged or take the normal college prep classes and still be challenged (but not as much, of course). So many opportunities are at Chaminade that it is astounding. Once an Eagle, always an Eagle. Send your children to Chaminade, I know I will be doing so in the future. Read less

I am a Chaminade Alumni and have the best memories for all my years. There are some really nice qualities about this school, but there are also a few not so nice ones. On the positive side, the campus is beautiful, the academics are challenging, there is soo much school pride, and the football games are amazing, even for people who hate sports. However, what concerns

They would be consistently condescending, or unhelpful, or would have unrealistic expectations of their students. Keep in mind this is a minority of faculty members. Most faculty members were very nice, a couple were even astounding teachers who were funny and articulate and passionate about the subject they taught. It's just there are a few really awful teachers who personally dampered the Chaminade experience for me. p.s. the middle school is better Read less

Chaminade works well for students that can teach themselves. My child was told that the the school emphasizes "student based learning" and that the teachers are there to guide and not to instruct. Have you ever tried to teach yourself Geometry? We found that many of the teachers were inconsistent

The person that wrote the review that was below average did go to the same school as your daughter.
