summer harding has not been a great replacement as principal. i took my child out this year as he has some special needs. she is very abrupt and reluctant to help. the parents can only do so much when you have someone at the helm that just doesn't want to spend the money.

This is a new year with a new principal. So far the school seems to have changed. I am still happy here with the education my children are recieving, but the leadership is not up to par.

We have had a wonderful 5 years here. The programs are great. The kids were lacking a music teacher for a long time. Parent involvement is fantastic!

CST* Test Scores

Grade Level:

Test Year: 2007
Chaparral Elementary School
Las Virgenes Unified School District
California

* In 2006-2007 California used the California Standards Tests (CSTs) to test students in English language arts and math in grades 2 through 11; science in grades 5, 8 and 10; and history-social science in grades 8, 10 and 11. Middle and high school students also took subject-specific CSTs in math and science, depending on the course in which they were enrolled. The CSTs are standards-based tests, which means they measure how well students are mastering specific skills defined for each grade by the state of California. The goal is for all students to score at or above proficient on the tests.
