This is a beautiful school inside and out. My son is in special ed for add, and the sped staff has always had my son's intrests in mind. When they called our first meeting, I was shocked to see every one of his teachers sitting around the table ready to give me their insightful feedback on what would

My son has the greatest friends, and always looks forward to school, even though he sometimes struggles academically. Last year (6th)was difficult as an adjustment year. I looked for signs of him losing faith, but he's never uttered the words, 'I don't want to go to school today, mom,' and I credit the school for that. This year, I have signed up with yourhomework.com and now I get emails every day listing his work. Read less

My son spent three very good years at AC Stelle. We felt Mrs. Sistrunk ran a tight ship and did a very good job setting the tone for the school. Funny that a previous poster felt too much money was spent on Special Education as my son had his core classes in the program. I will say if the rest of

Mrs. Schrieber was so wonderful and she really got it that these kids are intelligent and bright, they just don't learn the same way the GATE kids learn. If anything the schools in general have a teaching disability as opposed to the kids having a learning disability. Only complaint would be the lack of actual physical activity in PE and the abudence of paper/homework given in the place of actually running/playing/sports. Read less

Great school is your children get the right teachers. Mrs. Coleman in sixth-fabulous GATE teacher, Mrs. Hepps-outstanding English teacher, Mr. Beutel and Mr. Johnson-great science teachers but awful class sizes, Mr. Kane and Mrs. Andrews in 8th GAte-fantastic, Mrs. Asher-wonderful math teacher, Mrs.

If your child is gifted, keep him or her out of the GATE classes in 6th and 7th grade (too much arts and crafts and little substance). The regular teachers are wonderful! I am disappointed with the high class size. The teachers are a mixed bag...a few really awful ones and a few very talented. Thank goodness the advanced class teachers in 8th grade are talented and really prepare students for high school (Ms. Andrews in English, Mr. Kane in history, Ms. Asher in algebra).

The school has great test scores because of the overall quality of students. I have encountered some of the worst teachers at this school. Some are exceedingly disorganized and scatterbrained. At the same time, some teachers are very good and really care about the students and are gifted at the art

This is a wonderful school--with a few caveats--it does greatly depend on who your child's teacher is. The more advanced classes do not necessarily have the best teachers. The advanced classes, however, are your best bet in terms of preparing your child for high school. Mr Kane-great. Mrs. Asher--great.

My child (a GATE and maths honn. student) has been at AC Stelle since its opening (three years ago). This has been our biggest disapointment. On a positive note: no bullying, no drugs, none of this bad experiences ever heard of. We are from Europe, living here for 15 years, the only one I heard criticising the local schools are our neighbours from Woodland Hills! (The city next door!)
