Stockdale High is a good school.My draw back is that the kids focus a lot on clothes and who has what. One of my kids went to stockdale and the other went to Highland. Read more friends.The staff at the school were great and the vice principal was very helpful when I was trying to get my one daughter transferred to Highland, he went out of his way to help us and make calls for us.If you can handle rich attitude of the kids there, then stockdale is a great school, my one daughter needed to be transferred she had a hard time with us being a more middle class and its a very upper class school. The academics of Stockdale High are very prestigious and it is a very safe and good school to go to. Although it is very cliquey, academically it is excellent. Your child probably won't like it if they have had problems fitting into groups in the past.

I am impressed with Stockdale High. The teachers and administration are available and friendly. Whenever I've needed to ask a question regarding academics or my student's involvement they always return emails within 24 hours. Academically Stockdale rates at the top. I don't know how they do it but

We have been very pleased with Stockdale. Our daughter graduated from Stockdale in 2004 and has done very well in college. As a student at SHS I can honestly say this is one of the best all around schools. Questions are raised to the teaching methods, but I assure you students would have it no other way. Teachers integrate book choices, computer programs, and philosophical discussion's into everyday class. The extra activities
... Read more and sports include debate, over 30 clubs, swimming and diving, soccer, football, track, volleyball, golf, and much much more. Facilities at the school are fantastic and SHS is home to many 'Valley Champions' and many state competitors. This school has it all. Our principal makes the year bareable and our teachers make the school year fun. Stockdale has excellent security and I never feel threatened or in harms way. There is no school that even comes close in academics, sports, fun, staff, and security to Stockdale High School. Read less

I was a student at Stockdale, I enjoyed it very much. Not only did I have fun while there but I started the stepping stones to my career with the Career Path program. The teachers can be unorthidox but it is well worth it in the end

My son just started high school in bakersfield. His academic skills have impoved very much while attending Stockdale. His grades improved his GPA and now is passing all of his classes. The staff at this school also make a point to make sure that the parents are involved in the child's learning process

Advanced Placement
AP classes are college-level classes offered at the high school level.
