My son is an amazing football player an has great grades, however we are not wealthy as some of the students so he cannot play ball and or get the teachers attention when he needs help. Garces has no principal. The current one is temporary. The administration/counseling personal lack administrative credentials. Multiple teaching positions were vacant and filled with relatives or friends. Grade inflation. Definitely look elsewhere for quality private school education.

Read more size there is good access for athletes of all skills and ranges, allowing for students who may not otherwise participate in sports to gain access to a team sport and actually participate. There are a myriad number of different activities, including clubs and academically related events which are sponsored by the school and its community. Parental participation is encouraged and actually required by way of service hours. If you want your child to have a great chance of completing college this is the place in Bakersfield to send them for high school. Read less

Academically Garces is a great school. This is a top notch high school. Our son just graduated from Garces and it was impressive to see the statistics for the class of 2010. 98% of students will attend 4 year universities; over 28% of the class had GPAs higher than 4.0. The school provides a great

The only criticism we have is that there is a small group of students who are involved in drugs and alcohol consumption and the school does not do more to stop this behavior. Again this is a very small group. We did not make heavy contributions nor took any financial aid and found great support from teachers and faculty.
