I am a parent of a Freshman in this school and we are new to Arroyo Grande. I have to say I am very impressed with the school and it's students! ... Read more with Seniors available to answer questions and give encouragement. The counselor assigned has met with my child on many occasions to advise and make sure all is well. There are a lot of clubs to get involved in and if they want to they are encouraged to start a new club. To top it off all the students are expected to go to college upon graduation and the curriculum is geared toward getting them into a university. I am a former student and have recently walked the school and talked with students and educators alike. All schools have needs and AGHS is no exception. But the facilities are being modernized; the campus is far from being 'shambles' as one reviewer stated and the students and staff seem motivated and

Arroyo Grande High School has been around more than 50 yrs. with the same amount of classrooms it started with and 100 times more the students. They are trying to upgrade the school, but it is in shambles and the campus is a wreck! The kids are herded around like cattle. The school needs a full upgrade,

I just graduated from AGHS spring of '07. AG is a wonderful school, I didn't want to leave it. It really prepares you for what is ahead, though not every class is rigorous, if thats what you want you can find it. There are so many options at AG and the staff is friendly and always there you help you.

Read more The princapal, though he is young he is one of the best I've ever seen, he makes it a point to get to know every student so that they feel cared for, he's like a friend but still has the respect of every student. I think this school has a lot of room for improvement.They do not have a organized staff.You can email for weeks with out getting an email back.I found them very hard to communicate with. Advanced Placement
AP classes are college-level classes offered at the high school level. Once a student completes an AP class and passes a final comprehensive examination conducted by the College Board, the student earns college credit for the course. AP classes are specific and not to be confused with other higher-level classes such as honors classes.
Before/After School

Adult Education Classes
Programs offering GED or equivalent courses for adults within regular schools, whether classes are held during evening or daytime schedules.
English as Second Language
English language classes for students whose first language is not English.
