Mr. Reis, the beginning and intermediate band teacher, is truly awesome! It's amazing what he can teach those kids to do. Very impressed with him. As for PE and core teachers, they're okay, not the best but decent.

My daughter and I love Wood school! The teachers are great. They really care about the students academics. I went there as a child and my daughter was goin there til we had to move. Wood has given my daughter such a positive outlook on school. Being at Wood has boosted my daughters self esteem trmendously.

This school was nearly closed last year. As a result, a number of teachers and administrators took jobs elsewhere. The school had a bumpy start this year, but the new administration has been making strides in upgrading communications with parents, and implementing some new teaching programs. There
... Read more is now homework assistance after school four days a week, and a new journalism class has recently been added. There is a very strong sense of community at this school, and the PTA has made this years focus infrastructure and community building. The PTA now has a website open to members, so communications extend beyond scheduled meetings. There are trained peer mediators, and regularly scheduled events after school to get the kids together. My daughter has been thriving in this environment. Read less

Advanced Placement
AP classes are college-level classes offered at the high school level. Once a student completes an AP class and passes a final comprehensive examination conducted by the College Board, the student earns college credit for the course. Before/After School

Vocation/Technical Curriculum
Vocational and/or technical courses offered within a comprehensive school, usually a senior high school.
Special Education Classes
A school or program within a school that provides services and training to students with moderate to severe mental and/or physical disabilities.
Adult Education Classes
Programs offering GED or equivalent courses for adults within regular schools, whether classes are held during evening or daytime schedules.
English as Second Language
English language classes for students whose first language is not English.
