This and other charter schools are a good alternative to the public school system. The classes are capped off at 25 students, and some great teachers have taught here. (Teacher turnover is high) The administration is efficient enough as long as you don't question anything they or their kids ever do.
... Read more You'll see bullying and unfairness just like anywhere else, and parent involvement in the classroom is not really welcome. The playground is tiny, no lunch is served, and the classroom temperature is often uncomfortable. But no place is perfect. Read less

I have two children at Amerischools and am pleased to say I made the right decision moving them from the neighborhood public school. The class sizes are great, and I love the teachers. The teachers truly care about the children, it's not just a job to them! I really like the fact that they include
... Read more every subject; math, reading, writing, social studies, science, art, computers, and physical education while still finding time for field trips etc... The principal also holds anti-bullying classes each month for all grades. Granted there will always be issues, the staff and principal handle these issues in an appropriate and timely manner so as to discourage further behaviorial incidents. This is a place where my kids can feel comfortable and are motivated to learn! Read less

I have two children in AmeriSchools and have been pleased with all aspects of the school. I'm AMAZED that one parent would say that Mr. Wachunas interest in the children is 'superficial'. That has not been my experience nor have any of the parents I know (who have children there) expressed anything
... Read more but satisfaction with Mr. Wachunas' involvement and caring. My children are younger and were dismayed by the playground when we initially drove by the school but they have never mentioned it again. It's a non-issue. When Winter Break was over, I expected complaining but they were happy to get back to school! For a school of this size, I am in awe of the involvement of the teachers and staff. They teach music and art at a time when other schools have cut them from their curriculum. They have drama and science clubs, etc. Read less

Teachers are the best part of this school. The turnover has been a bit high in the past due to adminsitration issues, but if you need the best kinder teacher, you'll find her here. The principal seems in tune with the kids, but it's superficial. I think basic child psychology should be a must-have

My son did wonderful this past year and I can proudly say he had a great year at AmeriSchools Academy. This was my sons first year of school and he did great! I believe Mrs. Young is one of AmeriSchools best teachers. I realized this when my daughter was also in her class when she started kindergarten

In the short time I've spent in her classroom I immediately felt the open communication she gives the students as well as the parents. I am very pleased with her classroom projects and academic curriculum. Mrs. Young teaches the children culture, diversity, manners and most important she teaches them respect. Advanced Placement
AP classes are college-level classes offered at the high school level. Once a student completes an AP class and passes a final comprehensive examination conducted by the College Board, the student earns college credit for the course. Before/After School

Vocation/Technical Curriculum
Vocational and/or technical courses offered within a comprehensive school, usually a senior high school.
Special Education Classes
A school or program within a school that provides services and training to students with moderate to severe mental and/or physical disabilities.
Adult Education Classes
Programs offering GED or equivalent courses for adults within regular schools, whether classes are held during evening or daytime schedules.
English as Second Language
English language classes for students whose first language is not English.
